Independance Day

I love being born free.

My country is free.
Education (not studies) freed my mind.
Religion freed my soul.

To different people freedom means different things.
To me the ability to choose is all freedom is.
Choose whether I want to eat meat or not, one religion over another, where I want to live, where I want to work.

Make no mistake I love my country and its people. Indians save for a sense of hygiene are the most amazing people in the world. The depth and breadth of human cariety is so huge that it is like a world in itself.

I hate the apathy we exhibit though towards fellow humans and ever ourselves when it comes to political matters.

I wont dwell, but think about this.

Poilticians will affect the next 20 years of our country that we will live even (even if we leave we will contend with it at sometime). Given that how can we be so lax and lazy when choosing them. Take a look and see who we have up on the pedestal.

Moronic politicians serve people who deserve them.
Both for us and certain other fundamentalist and near fundamentalist (notice i never said non democratic) nations.

Damn I got preachy.
Let me leave with one thought though.

If the undeucated masses are morons, politicians are no fools, they divide them and make sure that they have enough votes from them - EACH AND EVERY PARTY.
So then how is it that an election is decided?
By our decision - NOT ABOUT WHOM TO VOTE FOR - BUT BY EXERCISING OUR VERY RIGHT, NO, DUTY, TO VOTE.

Happy Birthday India
